Default Wanted 4v manifold for a FE 360-390

I'm looking for a cheap used 4v intake manifold to fit a 360-390 motor. These are big heavy manifolds so shipping is a concern $

The aluminum ones aren't too bad, but if you get cast iron be prepared to use a cherry picker to install it!

Get an aluminum one, you'll go faster by just the fact you aren't lugging around 90 pounds of rock on your nose. No other engine has that big a difference in weight between cast iron and aluminum than the FE.

Hey Ron, try to find a used Edelbrock Streetmaster or Holley Street Dominator for a FE. They are really good intakes and you can find them for usually around $150-175. Those are probably the best bang for the buck intakes. Port-O-Sonic is good but expensive if you can find one. Edelbrock even gave instructions on how to port the plenum area of the Streetmaster for better performance. I've seen the instructions online and should be able to find it. Pretty simple procedure. Don't see any on Fleabay now but they always show up. You should post a wanted ad in the FE Forum. Somebody should have one there. Here's a recent ad there for a Streetmaster:

And another thing is to get a set of headers if you don't have them already.

Listen to the man, headers and a SM or SD intake, with a nice Holley will make it feel like it gained an extra 2 cylinders. Along with it, a recurve of the distributor and even a stock 390 runs very strong.

    Default hard to find

In my area any aluminum intake for an FE engine is very hard to find and very expensive when you do, especially a dual plane one.
I've got a couple factory cast iron ones but shipping it from Tennesse to Reno would cost a ton.

Hey Ron... I'll check with a friend at work when I go back after the first of the year. We yanked the 390 out of his truck and installed a 460. If he still has it, I'll just need to stop by and pick it up.

Did you find yourself an aluminum intake? I got an Edelbrock FE-427 intake I will sell.

Kinda dirty, but no damage anywhere. These are super good intakes based on the original Cobra / Shelby intakes. Dual plane.

Let me know if you want some pics.

I ran one of those F427's long ago. That's a nice manifold.

Will take $265.00 + the ride.

Yea, unless you have a hi-riser motor or SOHC or something exotic, virtually all FE motors will use the same intake.

F427 is a nice match for your truck.

Its very similar to the aluminum 428 PI and can be considered the older brother of the RPM.

Its a good dual plane manifold

Here's one that's more fun though.

Neither one is mine, but I could look at either one for you this weekend.

FYI, I found out that '69 2 barrel ports and '65 4 barrel ports are different sizes.

Hey Ron.... I checked with the guy I work with - they sold the engine as a builder on craigslist. I'll keep snooping around.
